What in the OJ Simpson is going on here…

Updated: Oct 6, 2020

Well, hello there, almost August!

Clearly, I gave up on posting regularly a long ass time ago, but this is the longest I’ve gone without writing anything.

These past seven months have been… well, how to put this nicely… a total bullshit and chaos. Like, seriously, can we start this year again?

Now, don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all bad for me personally, but it was for the world in general. And as much as I would like to put this all behind me and not dive back into the time that almost made me pull out my hair, I can’t.

So… the beginning of the year was pretty great! I had the whole January off from school and was preparing to kick some serious ass the upcoming semester which started in the beginning of February. Then the disease happened and all schoolwork moved online. Navigating through it was pretty tricky at first but as time passed, everybody got more comfortable with the new reality.

Just as we started to accept our situation and tried to get back to our “normal” everyday lives, another shoe dropped… There is SO much information and discussions about BLM movement, defunding the Police, LRADs and youknowwho’s incompetency that I’m not gonna get into any of it. But I remember waking up every day and checking locals’ Instagram stories to keep myself in the loop.

And to quote my absolute favorite cult leader, Spencer Henry: “What in the OJ Simpson is going on here?” Okay, but in all seriousness, I was so baffled and in disbelief of how this is still possible in the 21st century.

My point was NOT to tell you guys how this has effected ME as a bystander, because…hmm, check your privilege, girl…but to bring out that in these times you can very easily tell what kind of people you have surrounded yourself with. “Friends” who don’t think that these protests…these changes are necessary for us to move on as a functioning society and human beings, are just ignorant or simply dumb! I know that there isn’t a thing I could say that would make it all better, so I’m gonna shut the hell up now!

Oh, one more thing! I found THIS on the Internet a few months back and I cannot not include it here. So, here it is: “Whether you like it or not, this year will be written in history, your children will be educated of these events. They are gonna ask you what you did, wouldn’t it be embarrassing to say to your own children that you did nothing because you were uncomfortable.”

Anyway, thank you for bearing with me and reading through the post. My mind is still running a million miles an hour and I’m finding it difficult to put my thoughts into normal human words.
