My 20th birthday is coming up and you know what that means… I’m officially not a teenager anymore. To move on to this new decade and a new chapter of my life, I decided to bring out 20 things I’ve learned over the years. This is totally not my idea, I got it from Amber Scholl who has been doing it for several years now.
Disclaimer: I think it’s a marvelous idea, however, I am aware that these points are very personal and true to me. So, don’t come at me when they don’t fit your beliefs… I’m simply stating what I feel inside. Okay, here we go…
20 things I’ve learned:
1. In the end, beautiful people will end up with beautiful people and ugly people will end up with ugly people. And I’m not talking about looks.
2. Karma is real and we all have some shit coming…
3. Make no apologies for how you choose to fix what’s broken.
4. Be proud of how far you’ve come and don’t stress about how you got here!
5. You can judge a person’s character based on how they talk about others.
6. No one will ever be perfect, but some people come really close.
7. You can’t please everyone, just can’t. So, live your life how you see fit.
8. Most friendships won’t last, cherish the ones that do.
9. Measure your success on the scale of happiness.
10. When things get tough cry, breathe and move on.
11. Educate yourself on everything that’s important, ignorance never got anyone anywhere.
12. Schools produce people for the system to fuck over.
13. You never know how much time you have left, do it NOW!
14. Love is not one-size-fits-all, it is custom made for each person.
15. ALWAYS listen to your intuition, it’s rarely wrong.
16. Everyone is born equal…it’s the path we choose that defines us.
17. There’s no better cook than grandma.
18. When ppl walk out of you life, don’t forget to close the door behind them.
19. Everything is not about you!
20. Money can’t buy happiness, but it sure as shit makes everyday life easier.
Until next time
Love,
Lena
