Yes, I am aware I did not post last Sunday but everything has been so chaotic.
This year I started my first year of college and at the beginning of September I moved into my dorm room. Everything was so new to me, because I did not know what to expect.
I had no idea what my dorm room was gonna look like, because the day I moved in was the day I saw it the first time. Okay, let me give you a mini tour. It’s more like a two bedroom apartment. When you walk in there are three ways you can go. Left is my room, right is another bedroom and if you walk straight ahead, there’s a kitchen and a bathroom. Each room is meant to accommodate two people- so it’s like an apartment for four. It’s rather a cute space to live in. Now, with that said, I do have a couple of things to comment on. Firstly, the fridge in the kitchen is WAY too small for four or even three people. Secondly, let’s imagine it’s already winter… what is the first thing you do when you come home?? You take off your coat, right? But there is nowhere to hang it as there is no coat rack in the hallway. In fact, there is no coat rack anywhere in the apartment. That is crazy! And… we are not allowed to drill it to the wall ourselves either. That is so frustrating!!
As I previously mentioned, both rooms are for two people. So, I knew basically all summer that I’m gonna have a roommate. This was one of my biggest fears… that I wasn’t gonna like or even get along with her. And I stressed about it all summer. Exactly a week ago, when I finally found the time to move in, I met her. THANK YOU UNIVERSE!- I love my roommate. We always find something to talk about and she reminds me a little of myself. Dodged that roommate-horror-story bullet there.
As far as I know, right now there’s only one girl living in the other room and she has lived here for two years. We really don’t see her that often but she seems nice.
Another thing that needs time to get used to is my new timetable and workload. It is so unusual for me to go to class at 1 pm or 6 pm. And the workload is already getting immense.
What is more, I cannot believe how quickly a day goes by! I wake up, go to my classes, come home, cook, maybe meet up with a friend and, BAM, it’s dark outside… like… how?!
Anyway, this has been my first week in University and I hope nothing too crazy happens in the next one.
